17.00–17.30: Introduction to “All Eyes On” by Young Curators
17.30–18.00: Conversation with the Bishop in the lounge by Laiba Shafiq and Rosa Horiat
18.00–18.10: Musical performance by Saleh Mahfoud and Elisabeth Vatn

With the exhibition All Eyes On as a backdrop and with a shared commitment to peace, Bishop Kari Mangrud Alvsvåg meets two of the young curators, Laiba Shafiq and Rosa Horiat, for a conversation about how one can work to promote peace.

Bishop Kari Mangrud Alsvåg has, among other things, been involved in dialogue work between Muslim and Christian faith communities. She also has a particularly strong commitment to peace, and earlier this fall she was elected president of The European Council of Religious Leaders (ECRL).

All Eyes On presents video works by Wael Al-Sousi, Ayman Alazraq, Mona Hatoum, Dalia Al Kury, Sharif Waked and Noor Abed, who together represent several generations of Palestinian artists. At a critical time, the curators seek to create space for reflection on what is happening in Palestine, where the audience is invited to direct their gaze towards a country and a people that are constantly suffering and oppressed.

Prior to the conversation with the bishop, you are invited to an introduction to the exhibition. The conversation will be followed by a musical performance by Syrian musician Saleh Mahfoud and Elisabeth Vatn. The event will then move on to the finissage of the exhibition "All Eyes On".

All Eyes On is curated by members of PRAKSIS Teen Advisory Board who are aged 17 to 23, as part of the Young Curators Mentorship programme 2024: Kendrick Olemor Bedana Aguilar, Vivianné Bucio Bach, Rosa Horiat, Elwyn Bjerkan Mathiesen, Rue Mussé, Matine Nisso Nusayrieva-Mitchell, Violetta Nechai, Linnea Sahlberg, Molly Scharffenberg and Laiba Shafiq.

The Young Curators Mentorship is a collaboration between Nitja Centre for Contemporary Art and PRAKSIS. It is supported by Erasmus+ Ungdom programme of the European Union, Akershus fylkeskommune, and Sparebankstiftelsen DNB.
