The Art Encounters Foundation and PRAKSIS invite you to participate in a visual arts webinar led by Ami Barak, guest curator at the Art Encounters Foundation and art critic based in Paris.
The webinar led by Ami Barak on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, aims to address the following topics: Career Planning, Portfolio Editing, Marketing, Promotion, Valuing Work, Legal Considerations, Funding, Grant Writing, and other essential issues. The call is addressed primarily to young artists, curators, and contemporary art professionals interested in the strategies and dynamics of promotion in the visual arts.
The workshops are free and open to national and international candidates. They will be held online, in English.

About Ami Barak
Ami Barak is an independent curator and art critic based in Paris, currently guest curator of the Art Encounters Foundation. He is a highly regarded name in the world of international contemporary art and the initiator of several projects and exhibitions in France and worldwide, as well as an old friend of the Art Encounters Foundation, for which he co-curated the 2017 Biennial for contemporary art and the exhibition Ex-East, organized at Espace Niemeyer in Paris under the auspices of the France-Romania Cultural Season 2019. Ami Barak is also a former president of the International Association of Contemporary Art Curators (IKT).
About Art Encounters
Established in 2015, the Art Encounters Foundation aims to deliver an institutional model tailored to the needs of the local context and which is equally engaged in contributing to the international art scene. Founded by art collector and entrepreneur based in Timișoara Ovidiu Șandor, the Art Encounters Foundation is an initiative aiming to enrich and support the development of the contemporary art scene in Romania.
Its core mission is to foster dialogue, learning, research, and experiment. The Foundation's activities are carried out over the following main directions: organizing the Art Encounters Biennial in Timișoara and the exhibition program taking place at its permanent space in Timișoara or other sites; fostering education and audience development through public programs; developing a solid series of artistic and curatorial residencies. In conjunction with the permanent programs of the Foundation, the private art collection of Ovidiu Șandor, president of the Art Encounters Foundation, functions as an open resource for exhibitions, institutional collaboration, and research.
About the project
The project "Intersections – Art, Knowledge and Society" benefits from a grant for 63. 010 euro from Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through the EEA and the Norwegian Funds.
